On 10 March 2023, Tim O’Brien of W P McElhone & Co retired from legal practice after a long and esteemed career. Tim started with W P McElhone & Co in the early seventies as a young law clerk and over the ensuing decades built up a very successful practice as a result of his dedication to his many valued clients.

Established in 1904 by William Percy McElhone MBE and Lord Mayor of Sydney, W P McElhone & Co has carried on legal practice in the Sydney Central Business District for over 100 years. Their reputation was built on providing high quality and personalised service to their clients at reasonable fees. They built long term relationships with their clients by understanding their business and personal requirements and supplying practical and effective solutions to their issues.

Peter McLachlan has had the privilege of knowing Tim O’Brien for over forty years and has always held him in the highest esteem on both a professional and a personal level. He was therefore very happy to assist Tim on his path to retirement by incorporating his practice into McLachlan Thorpe Partners so as to ensure a smooth transition for Tim’s much valued clients.
