Juliana joined McLachlan Thorpe Partners as a solicitor in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution section in 2009. She was appointed as partner in 2023.
Prior to joining McLachlan Thorpe Partners, she was practising as a solicitor in Western Australia, attending to both commercial and litigation matters.
During her time with McLachlan Thorpe, Juliana has represented clients in Local, District, Supreme and Federal Court matters. She has been involved in several complex litigation matters involving contractual, statutory and equitable claims. Many of Juliana’s complex matters involve multiple parties on the opposing side, and extended hearing periods.
Juliana has also acted in litigation matters relating to:
- Trade practices, including claims under the Australian Consumer Law;
- Professional disciplinary matters;
- Defamation;
- Employment disputes, with a focus on enforcing and defending restraints of trade;
- Franchising.
Juliana has a strong passion for intellectual property (IP) matters and handles both litigious and non-litigious IP matters.
Her non-contentious IP matters include assisting clients on trade mark registration applications, both in Australia and internationally.
Juliana holds a Master of Laws (LLM) postgraduate degree from the University of New South Wales, specialising in Innovation Law (IP) and Media and Technology Law.
She has many contacts throughout Asia with good links to law firms in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur in particular.
