Frédéric is a French qualified business lawyer with a doctorate of Laws (PhD) and 30 years of experience in practicing law in an international environment (registered as an Avocat with the Paris Bar and the NSW Law Society as a Foreign Lawyer). His experience includes fifteen years with top law firms in Paris (Deloitte Legal, Salans-Dentons) where he was assisting major international clients in business law and was involved in World Bank international projects (privatization of the water and electricity sectors in Chad, drafting part of the insurance code in the Ukraine and in Romania, drafting new telecommunications law in Lebanon, etc.). From 2004 to 2008 Frédéric set up and managed a law firm in Tahiti for a major Parisian firm. Since 2008, Frédéric has moved to Australia and been practicing in Sydney as a foreign lawyer for various Australian firms. He joined McLachlan Thorpe Partners in 2018.
Frédéric is also the Australian correspondent of the French international law firm DS Avocats.
Frédéric has developed a large French-Australian client base to which he provides legal assistance in areas such as:
- Advising French and New Caledonian companies investing in Australia (incorporation of subsidiaries, foreign investments, shareholders agreements, joint-ventures, etc.);
- Assistance of French companies operating in Australia (distribution and agency agreements, employment contracts (dismissals, redundancy, etc.), trade agreements, trade terms and conditions, drafting and negotiating contracts, etc.);
- Restructuring, legal audits, acquisitions, M & A transactions;
- Assistance in complex proceedings before Australian Courts;
- International estates;
- Appointment as an expert in French law before Australian Courts;
- Property law (assistance in purchasing property either in France or in Australia);
- Provision of legal advices on the applicable law in New Caledonia and French Polynesia for major French clients, correspondent for international law firms (insurance, food industry, new technologies, international recall of products, etc.).
Frédéric is actively involved in the French-Australian community, being the federal Company Secretary of the French-Australian Chamber of Commerce – FACCI and past Vice-President of Alliance Française de Sydney, and non-executive member of French subsidiaries in Australia. He is publishing articles in magazines and intervenes on a regular basis in public speaking.
Outside the area of law, Frédéric has travelled extensively; he is an artist (oil, gouache, watercolor) and an illustrator (publication in 1997 of a comic book – Le Timbre Ecarlate – numerous illustrations of cases law in several French legal magazines).

Frédéric a exercé pendant 15 ans à Paris au sein de cabinets internationaux réputés tels que Deloitte Legal ou Salans-Dentons, où il intervenait auprès de grands clients français et internationaux. Il a également travaillé dans des projets de la Banque Mondiale tels que ceux de la privatisation de l’eau et de l’électricité au Tchad, la rédaction d’une partie du code des assurances en Ukraine et en Roumanie, la rédaction de la nouvelle loi de télécommunications au Liban, etc. De 2004 à 2008, Frédéric a créé et géré un cabinet d’Avocats à Tahiti pour un grand cabinet parisien.
Depuis, Frédéric a émigré en Australie, exerçant à Sydney pour divers law firms australiennes et rejoint McLachlan Thorpe en 2018.
Frédéric est également le correspondant en Australie du cabinet français international DS Avocats.
Frédéric a développé une importante clientèle franco-australienne pour laquelle il fournit une assistance juridique dans les principaux domaines suivants :

Frédéric est activement impliqué dans la vie de la communauté franco-australienne de Sydney. Il est actuellement Federal Company Secretary de la Chambre de Commerce Franco-Australienne – FACCI, il a aussi été Vice-Président de l’Alliance Française de Sydney, et il est également membre du board de diverses filiales françaises en Australie. Il publie régulièrement des articles dans des magazines et intervient dans des conférences.
En dehors du Droit, Frédéric a voyagé dans un grand nombre de pays, il est aussi artiste (huile, gouache, aquarelle) et illustrateur (publication en 1997 d’une Bande-Dessinée – Le Timbre Ecarlate –, auteur de nombreuses illustrations de décisions de justice dans divers magazines juridiques français).
