Jonathan WongLawyer

    Jonathan works in the Commercial & Corporate team, and the Property & Construction team.  He provides sound commercial advice to businesses and companies and drafts and reviews a wide range of commercial and corporate documents.

    Prior to joining McLachlan Thorpe Partners, Jonathan worked in a large Malaysian law firm, where he was involved in both transactional and litigation work in the areas of finance and banking, commercial, corporate, property and succession law.  His experience includes advising and litigating on behalf of most of the major banks in Malaysia, drafting submissions for various high profile cases, advising corporations on mergers and acquisitions, as well as planning large estates.

    Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the Australian National University, where he served as an editor of the Federal Law Review.  

    Jonathan is a polyglot, who speaks fluent English, Malay and Indonesian.  He also speaks Mandarin Chinese as a fourth language.
